CHUCK CARR BIO
Chuck Carr is the President and Founder of Carr Landscape Management, Inc., an award-winning landscape company based in Porter Ranch, California. He is licensed by the state of California as a landscape contractor and qualified pest control applicator. Chuck founded his company on the principal of providing clients “professionalism with a personal touch.” This approach applies to meeting all of a customer’s landscaping needs, whether they are in the areas of design, installation, renovation or ongoing grounds maintenance. Chuck has published more than sixteen articles on landscaping and has been a featured speaker at landscape, homeowner and real estate industry events. Since 1993 he has put his landscaping expertise and skills to work for hundreds of properties across Southern California. Chuck and his work frequently appear nationally on Home and Garden Television (HGTV) having appeared in multiple episodes of “Designing for the Sexes,” “Landscaper’s Challenge” and “Ground Rules.” He has also been featured on TBS Superstation’s” Movie & a Make Over” where he designed and installed a picnic area for a non-profit youth center near downtown Los Angeles. Most recently, Chuck and his crew appeared in thirteen episodes of “Urban Outsiders” on HGTV along with British landscape designer and program host, Matt James. Prior to founding Carr Landscape Management, Chuck was with Environmental Care, (now Valley Crest) the country’s largest, privately held, landscape services company. His role was developing new business for the company in the areas of landscape maintenance, design, installation and renovation among high-profile clients in the commercial, industrial, association and residential estate markets. Before joining ECI in 1998, Chuck was President and Chief Operating Officer of Jordan Landscape, a mid-sized landscape company specializing in landscape maintenance and renovations for homeowner associations and commercial properties.
Chuck’s interest in the green industry began during his childhood in Minnesota where his mother managed a retail nursery and his father ran facilities for Hilton Hotels. Later, as a teen in Indianapolis, Indiana, Chuck earned money the way many kids did, by mowing lawns during the summer and shoveling snow during the winter. However, not content with only the neighbor’s yards, Chuck branched out and serviced nearby commercial properties as well.
During college at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, Chuck studied broadcasting and business. He also spent a semester living in London studying geography, philosophy and art history. His time in London allowed him to travel and visit several of Europe’s most famous public and private gardens and estates.
